I have just finished reading the Divergent by Veronica Roth. This book is a Fictional/fore-warning type of book. These books are about a girl named Beatrice Prior, and she lives in the future. Her city has been divided into 5 factions to keep peace. She is now 16, which means that she now must choose to stay with her family in the faction Abnegation, the selfless, or go on her own in a completely different faction. These books show her adventures through hectic circumstances.
I wanted to do the last "Top 10" which is create my own that fits my book. My Created Top 10 is a combination of number 1, number 3, number 7, and number 8, plus 2 that I created myself: Parts of the book where I completely expected it, and happy parts of the book. WARNING: If you are a person still reading these books DON'T READ ON! There are going to be a lot of spoilers in this Top 10. Unless, you really need to know what happens in this book trilogy. But honestly, you don’t want to know otherwise you will have a 96% chance of putting down the book and never touching it again. I have now warned you, so let’s get started! Here is my top 10:

    10. Beatrice, more known as Tris, is from the faction Abnegation. On The Choosing Day, she chooses to be in Dauntless, the brave.

    9. Edward, a character in the book, gets stabbed in the eye by a horrible character named Peter. Peter also tries to kill Tris but fails, yet he is still evil and hated for a number of other reasons.

    8. The character Four, (becomes very important☺ ) starts to fall in love with Tris, and vise versa. Four starts to trust her more, and takes her into his Fear Landscape, which is a simulation that shows One’s greatest fears. Tris and the reader find out why people call Four by that nickname, is because he only has 4 fears.

    7. To piggyback on number 8, the mind-blowing part is when you find out what Four’s real name is: Tobias Eaton. If you would like to know why, read the books.

    6. A quote: “I guess there is a little Abnegation in everyone. Well, everyone but Peter” ~Tris

    5. Tris’ brother, Caleb, was secretly working with Jeanine Mathews, the villain.

    4. Edith Prior, Tris and Caleb’s ancestor, was going to use a memory serum on herself.

    3. The world outside their city has no factions, and their city is Chicago.

    2. Chicago was used as an experiment because there were people in them government trying to get rid of “genetic impurities”. Things go terribly wrong and of course there is war. People who are Divergent, like Tris, are considered “genetically pure”. People who are not Divergent, are considered “genetically damaged”.

    1. A character named David shoots Tris and she dies saving the world. Worst. Ending. EVER.

I hope you enjoyed my top 10!

I just finished the book The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green. It is a young adult literature fiction book. In the book, The Fault in Our Stars, sixteen-year-old Hazel has Stage 4 Thyroid cancer. Her parents made her attend a support group with people who have cancer. That is where Hazel met Augustus Waters, who has Osteosarcoma. After the support group, they go Augustus’s house to watch a movie, and from they’re on, they spend more time together.

Since Augustus saved his wish from The Genies (which is like the Make a Wish Foundation), he wants to fly to Amsterdam with Hazel and her mother to meet Peter van Houten. They want to see how the book, An Imperial Affliction ends. Hazel got pneumonia and she wasn’t sure if she could go. But her doctors said she could go to Amsterdam. When they meet Peter van Houten it turns out that he is totally not what they imagined. He was rude and nasty to them. He was not able to answer their questions.

When they get back it turns out that Augustus’s cancer has spread. His friends made him a pre funeral in order to see how he is going to be remembered, and eight days later he dies. In the end Augustus’s friends believed that he wrote a sequel to An Imperial Affliction, but instead he wrote a eulogy for Hazel.

The top ten places mentioned in my book are …

    Hazel’s house

    Augustus house

Support group (the Literal Heart of Jesus)

    Peter van Houten’s house

    Oranjee

    Isaacs house

    Emergency Room

    Airport/airplane

    Hotel Filosoof

    Anne Frank’s house

I just finished read an historical fiction novel called When you Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. The novel is set in the 1970's in New York City, and the main characters are sixth graders Miranda and Sal who are best friends and then have a falling out after Sal encounters a bully. Miranda is obsessed with A Wrinkle in Time, and so this novel has elements of time travel. Here are the top 10 things I could not stop thinking about...
-The Laughing Man - I knew that there was something mysterious about him and that he was connected to the problem.
-Sal - I knew that he was embarrassed about being punched, and that's why he couldn't face Miranda.
-Marcus - I knew that there was more to him than what you see on the surface.
-Julia - characters like Julia who appear to be bullies or arrogant always have something else going on under the surface.
-I thought the relationship between Miranda and her Mom was well written, and the way she treats Miranda with respect and caring.
-I like the character Richard, Mom's boyfriend.
-I like the way Miranda is obsessed with A Wrinkle in Time.
-It was interesting to think about time traveling and coming back.
-There was a big reveal that hits the reader like a punch in the stomach, and I loved the surprise.
    - Rebecca Stead does a great job building suspense.
    - The unexpected ending was really creative and solves problems for all of the characters. There are surprises in how some characters end up together.
