    Lord Loss by Darren Shan
Whats your Characters struggles or problems and how does he resolve it?
"If you want to know more then come to my house and ill tell you about the demon world."
I feel really bad about Grubbs. His parents have just been ripped to shreds by demons and he didnt hear about it, he witnessed it! He is so confused. No one in the mental hospital beleived him. Some characters like Harry Potter are confused in a happy way. Grubbs is confused in a bad way. Except he is eager to talk to his uncle and find out about the demon world. I know that if I were in grubb's position i would never make it through this. That shows that Grubb's cares about his family and Grubb's wants to meet Lord Loss again but this time to kill him!

I am reading Jeremy Finks and Meaning of Life

The character is Jeremy Finks he get this package that was for his mom but Lizzie peeled it a little so the had to open it. Inside was a letter it was from his dad's old friend it says that he lost the key for the box and that he is very sorry. Deeper in the package was a box that said "The meaning of life To: Jeremy Finks to open on his 13 birthday. It was from his dad. Jeremy was shocked because his dad is dead i think i would be shocked because if my dad was dead and years later i recive something from my dad I will be shocked. Jeremy, does not know what to do when his mom comes home. He is not good in lieing to his mom but his friend Lizzie does she is trying to help him. I think he is not going to tell his mom and he is going to find the keys to the box. I think later on in the story they are going to say how Jeremy dad died.

I am reading the 8th book in the Series Of Unfoutunate Events. From the begging i have always understood the ending. My partner and i have been predicting the ending to all the book and we have been right. This is becasue in all the books except for maybe the last one the book ends the same.It always ends with Count Olaf Excaping and the kids always feel so upset but then they realize aleast we have each other. I wish in some of the books it would end a little bit differnt. Another way the books could end is by just ending it and saying to be continued or maybe they could catch Count Olaf but then he gets away.

    Starfish by James Crowley

Lionel looked at his grandfather and knew that Beatrice was gone.

Beatrice was sick for a long time and it was her time. The setting really helped you get how much Lionel thought of his sister and who she was. Their grandfather insisted that they bury her in the old Blackfoot way because that's what she became. She had said once that she wouldn't go back to the school, and so she didn't. When they brought her to her resting place the trees were in patterns and feathers and bits of cloth were hanging from the trees like they did in her hair. Beatrice is sort of like Lionel's courage, when she is being laid to rest he thinks about what she did and how much strength she had. She was stubborn, if she didn't want her hair to be cut, it wouldn't. If she wanted to be silent, she was. No gun could cut down Beatrice, she died a natural way, a good way to die
and that ends my tribute to brave Beatrice of the Blackfeet

    Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
    Fantasy

Describe the character's problem or struggle and how he resolves it.
    "Thats 50 points from gryffindor!"
The quote up top explains everything! Harry every night had just been wandering at night and getting in trouble. From the mirror of Erisad to getting involved with the sorcers stone. Harry needs to study and train because he is right now the future of Hogwartz. If he gets in snapes buisnees one more time I think snape is going to kill him. Also if they found him with the dragon they wouldve expelled him! He needs to stay out of trouble and train for the next time he meets voldemort. Also if he gets any more points taken away from gryffindor hes going to be known for doing that and hes not going to be as famous as hed like to be.

    The High King
A fantasy book by Lloyd Alexander
"Taran felt uneasy. As a boy, he had dreamed of taking his place among men, and, as a boy, he saw himself fit to do so. No, admidst the grizzled, battle-wise warriors, his knowledge was clouded."
In this book, Taran, an assistant pig-keeper, feels he has finally taken his place among the warriors of Prydain to fight against the evil Arawn. But as the book progresses, Taran's friends start to die in battles, and Taran wishes more and more to be done with the battles.
This book has alot about the cost of war. In the book, some of Taran's friends die in horrible battles, some people betray his cause. As much as I hate to admit it, the book also has alot of symbolizim. The white-pig banner Taran waves to get the Free Commots on his side is like a symbol of truth and hope, rising above the battle-field. Arawn symbolizes evil, Magg symbolizes betrayel for money, and Pryderi symbolizes betrayel because what you think is right is not (ha ha ha now you will have to think about what I just said!!!)

Write about a part that amazed you!
A part in Harry Potter #5 that really amazed me ios that harry is not worried about these dreams about lord voldemort. Harry doesn't realise that these dreams are very bad. Harry is only 15 he doesn't need to be finding out what lord voldemort wants to do and what he wants from the minestry of magic. I think that its great that snape was teaching harry oclumency but now that he stopped harry going to continue to have the dreams. I am amazed that harry is eager to find out what lord voldemort wants in the minestry bof magic. I think harry should make an effort to keep learning oclumency otherwise i think he is in danger.

    Harry Potter The 3rd
In the book Harry Potter Harry changes in many ways. In the first Harry Potter Harry was very confused about what was going on in his life. He was very confused about wizardry, his future, his false past and more. Although he was trying to figure this all out he was doing a very good job transitioning which I think is a good quality he has. I think that he really was lucky to meet the Weasly family because they helped him along so much! Just one example how would he get to Hogwarts in the first place without them? In the second book I think Harry begins to understand much more of what is going on, even though there are so many mysterious, just like Egypt! I really think in the Second book he begins to understand that he is really being chased after my Lord Voldermort because before he just heard tales about him and things that could happen. In the second he is scared about the tales but he does not no really how horrible it could be. In the third he has another problem. He is being chased by Sirus Black. He is scared and nobody is telling him what is going on. He knows he is wanted my Sirus Black, but nobody is telling him why and there is a mysterious feeling around the school. He is frightened of the dementor and does not no what is going on. He has changed and understood a lot but, he is only begging the journey of wizardry!

The Series of Unfortunate Events: The Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket
    Writers Craft
"If you have any sense at all you will shut this book immediately, drag it up a tall mountian, and throw it off the very top."
Lemony Snicket tries to convince the reader not to read the book but by saying the 'quote' he makes it mysterouis and makes the reader want to contuine reading the book. He also gives you an example of what you should do to the book, which makes you think about what could be inside these pages. I think this is a smart technique because it convinces the reader to read the creepy book.

"There are many pleasent things to read about, but this is not one of them"

I think that Lemony Snicket is a very smart writer. I say this because when i read that it intrigues me to keep on reading and it sort of makes it like a mystery on what is going to be about. He does this a lot sometimes he takes up a whole entire page just to say how dreadful this book is and that you should put it down right then and there and pick a different book to read.

    Small Steps By Louis Sachar
"For the first time in his life, there was someone who looked up to him,who cared about him."
This quote is important. It shows that Armpit isn't the same mean, tough dude at Camp Green Lake. It shows that now, he is a good roll model. Ginny looks up to him. You can see a immediate change from Holes to Small Steps. He isn't the same person anymore. He's not Armpit, He's Theodore. Ginny sort of gave him confidence. You CAN change, but no one will do if for you. You have to find whats wrong and take it out of you. =^..^= Kitty!

    The Empty Mirror
    By James Lincoln Collier

When Nick found out he was being blamed for everything bad that was happening around town he started to worry. When he found out there was a copy of himself running around, he went up to the pine forest to think about it. He discovered a shack with a blanket over the door. He looked inside the small, square window and saw himself sleeping. But it wasn't him. Nick gasped so loud, that the copy of himself heard and made a run for it. Before he could make it, Nick grabbed his ankle and the copy tripped and fell over. I think the copy has something to do with the boy who died from the flu epidemic. I think this because, when Nick was working in the graveyard he saw a toppled gravestone. When he picked it up it said
    Jared Solters
    July 18, 1905 - October 24, 1918
    "He died among strangers..."
I also think the copy wants to do something really bad to the town so no one would want to believe in Nick anymore. The copy said he was trying to kill Nick but when Nick tryed to explain that his life was nothing special; no parents, no friends except Gypsy, all he has is his uncle. The copy ran off. So Nick had to figure out a way to catch him himself.

    Happy Kid
    By Gail Gauthier

In the begginning, Kyle is really low and has no friends, he just sits at home and plays video games. When he enters 7th grade he's still the same. When his Mom gets him a book called "Happy Kid" he starts to go through a change. He says "Hello!" to everybody he sees. He even complimented his teachers outfit. Every time Kyle reads a new chapter, he starts changing. But on the inside he feels guilty that he never hung out with his friends over the summer, because his friend, Luke, is now doing taekwondoe with some other kid named Ted and Kyle starts to feel left out when they don't invite him to join with them. I think Kyle is trying his best to make new friends, so he doesn't have to have Jake Rodgers as a friend.

I am not starting with a text quote because this has nothing to do with a text quote. In my book, the antagonist is the death-lord Arawn, among others. But while I was doing research of Celtic Gods (the book is mostly based on Celtic myhtology), I found out that Arawn is actually the Welsh god of death and war, and so I just thought it was a really cool connection so I decided to put it on the blog so there.

  19. Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone

In Harry Potter Harry has a connection to Percy. Percy had no idea that he was a special boy, and neither did Harry. Grover and Ron are similar because when the hero is sad or feels like quiting his friend or sidekick picks him back up. Hermione is smart and stoudious like Annabeth in Percy Jackson. Chiron reminds me of Dumbeldore I think that they have huge connection together.

    A strategy I use.
If there is a hard word, sentance or paragraph in harry potter #5 i would picture the characters actually saying it like there alive that helps me understand it better. For 2 years now i've allways been playing a movie inside my head of what is hapening and now this year i have been helping myself understand hard words with the movie. That is a very good strategy i use to help me understand harry potter #5 better or any book.

The character in my book has a problem. His name is Jason and he doesn't remember any thing about himself or others. He just found out he is the son of zues god of the sky but that is pretty muchthe only thing he knows. Jason also has two peopele telling him that they were his best friends but he has no idea who they are, all he knows is that he woke up on a school bus and ended up fighting off these evil storm spirets. Now he is at camp half blood where he is about to leave for his quest with the two kids thAt told him they were his best friends ( one is dauter of Afridite and the other Hephestes). Jason is also suspiciose because another camper Annabeth and the camp director Chiron seem to know somthing about Jason that they won't tell him.Jason's quest is to find Hera and save her because she is trapped. ***************

    Among the Betrayed

In my book the character Nina found out that her evil x boyfriend Jason is still alive. The tape she heard of him betraying her was a fake. She doesn't know whether she should feel angry that Mr.Talbot lied, Scared that Jason is helping the population police, happy that Jason is still alive, or sad that she can't ever forgive him from turning on her and her friends. That was the end of the book. Over the course of the story, Nina changed a lot. In the beginning she was a helpless little girl who believed only what she wanted to believe. She couldn't do anything for herself and she would do anything to keep herself alive. At the end she was a girl fighting for her freedom who had to let go of her old life.

This book confused me a little when i started it but now all because we were studying ancient Egypt, i have a better picture of what is happening. Like in Sadie's dream, Nut said to her that she has been separated from Geb for 5,000 years. I did not know what she meant at first but then i learned about when Shu the air god separated them by lifting Nut into the air.

Harry potter and the prisnor of Azkaban
    by J.K. Rowling

In this book Sirus black ascaped azkaban. Now the dementors who are part ghost are looking for him. They say that he is after Harry potter and the dementors are guarding the school. during this book they got a new teacher porfesser Lupin and he is part warewolf, but they find this out at the end. Also they find out black is harrys godfather and he can turn into a black dog. Also that Rons rat scabbr isngt really a rat i know it sounds crazy, but really he is Voldimorts henchmen. These charters were all best friends in hogwarts! They were also best friends with James Potter witch gets me to my favrite part. After Lupin turned into a warewolf Harry went to find him. Harry saw a dementor and the dementor was trying to give the kiss its when the dementor trys to suck the sole out of you through your mouth. Harry did a spell that didn't work through out the book, but at that moment a silver thick blast came out his wand and he saw prongs a dear or horse thing. Prongs is harry's dad. After all this i think harry must of bin confused and scared and amazed and proud.
I think he would be amazed because he did the spell and he saw his dad and now he has a god father. Also he must of bin confused because they were givig him different storys how and who killed his parents. I think he was scared because when he first saw black he thought he was a killer and then he met the henchmen of LORD VOLDEMORT and now Lupin is a warewolf and there is dementors everywehere and Buckbeak might die and buck beak is hagrids hipogriff. Malfoy said buck beak hurt him, but he didnt so his father talked to the ministery of magic and made him get rit of buckbeak.getting back to what i was saying I think he is proud because he saved everyone and now he met and knows more about his dad and the potrones spell worked and now he can go live with Black instead of the dursleys. If i were harry i would feel this way too.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phinex.
    Home
Quote " SO YOU HAVEN'T BEEN IN THE MEETING, BIG DEAL! YOU'VE STILL BEEN HERE, HAVEN'T YOU? YOU'VE STILL BEEN TOGETHER ME, I'VE BEEN STUCK AT THE DURSLEYS' FOR A MONTH! AND I'VE HANDLED MORE THAN YOU TWO'VE EVER MANGED AND DUMBLEDORE KNOWS IT- WHO SAVED THE SORCERER'S STONE? WHO GOT RID OF RIDDLE? WHO SAVED BOTH YOUR SKINS FROM THE DEMENTORS?"

This is when Ron and Hermine tell him they haven't bin in the order of the Phoenix meetings because there not apart of it and Harry doesn't even know what it is. As you can tell harry isn't happy he is very, very mad because they've bin here for a month and didn't know one thing and he deserves to know. I would be mad two because they didn't know anything about it and none can tell what happened and he deserves to know. This is because The Order of the Phoenix is a group of people who fought or fight Voldemort and Dumbledore is the leader of this group. I can understand why is mad because he fought Voldemort last year and saw him come back to be strong again. Also at this point he didn't know this, but his Parents Lily and James potter where apart of this group till they passed away. getting back to why I would be mad is because he basically is apart of this, but he is too young, but i think he has a right to know because he has fought Voldemort amounts of times and he saw him come back. Now his friends have no secrets or information for him. I can see why Harry is mad, I would be to if I was put in Harry's posien.
